Digital building twins and blockchain for performance-based (smart) contracts

Performance contracts used for servitized business models enable consideration of overall life-cycle costs rather than just production costs. However, practical implementation performance has been limited due to challenges with evaluation, accountability, and financial concepts. As a solution, this paper proposes the connection digital building twin blockchain-based smart execute performance-based payments. First, we conceptualize technical architecture connect blockchain twins. The stores evaluates data in real-time while ensures transparency trusted execution automatic evaluation rewards through contracts. Next, demonstrate feasibility both concept by integrating Ethereum sensors via Siemens platform. resulting prototype is first full-stack contract built environment.
